COURSE OF NUTRITION AND FEEDING lesson 2
THE CHOLESTEROL
The cholesterol is a waxen and complex substance that is important part of the cellular membranes. The organism also takes advantage of it to produce vitamin D, hormones, biliary acid and to form nerve tissue. It is transported in the sanguine torrent by the lipoproteínas, that is to say, proteins that contain lípidos or fatty. According to certain studies when increasing in the blood the quantity of cholesterol, it is bigger the risk of suffering cardiac illnesses.
The cholesterol is in the allowances, but alone 15 percent of all the present cholesterol in the blood comes from the food, that which means that if he/she decreases to the minimum the ingestion of cholesterol, in all ways the effect that will have it in the blood will be almost insignificant since in its biggest part this it produces it the own organism in the liver. On the other hand, it is considered that the excessive ingestion of saturated fats stimulates the production of cholesterol in the liver.
The lipoproteína type that transports to the cholesterol in the organism plays an important part among the factors that make increase the risk of suffering a coronary thrombosis. Most of the sanguine cholesterol is linked chemically to low density lipoproteínas, and this it is the dangerous one as for the state of health.
On the other hand, another part of the sanguine cholesterol is linked to high-density lipoproteínas and he/she seems to help to prevent the coronary thrombosis, reason why it is considered that as much as adult is his presence in the blood, so much better it will be you effect for the health.
From him point of view of the feeding, what suits to make is to try that it increases the quantity of beneficent cholesterol and that it diminishes that of harmful cholesterol. For example, if habitually they are ingested between 450 and 500 daily mg of cholesterol, it will be necessary to reduce that quantity 300 mg that is the one according to a lot of cardiologists it limits advisable maximum. To achieve it it was enough to moderate the ingestion of eggs and viscera; also, he/she would suit to exercise, that which helps to increase in certain measure to the quantity of beneficent cholesterol.
For I finish, it is advisable to be made every year an analysis of level of present cholesterol in the blood, mainly in the case of the men starting from the mature age.
The organism needs to obtain of the allowances around 40 essential nutrients: vitamins, minerals, proteins and fat that cannot take place for if same, or not in enough quantity.
To satisfy the necessity of nutrients it is necessary to eat great quantity of allowances. In general each food contains several nutrients, but none contains them all; also the type and the quantity of contained nutrients in certain food can be scarce. For example, the milk contains proteins, fatty, carbohydrates, calcium, match, rivoflavína and other vitamins of the group B and vitamins An and D, but on the other hand he/she has very little iron and very little vitamin C. The lack of a nutrient it cannot be compensated with a sobreingestion of another.
